MindSea is a Nova Scotia business actively networking with other Nova Scotian businesses to share ideas, draw on each other’s expertise and sustain each other’s growth. MindSea limits it’s impact on the environment by working with other Nova Scotia businesses to control waste and share as many resources as possible.
MindSea carefully chose The Hub Halifax as it’s base of operations largely because of the many environmental benefits it offers to both the community and MindSea collaborators. The Hub is a shared workspace that employs a number of techniques (such as cradle-to-cradle furnishings and the use of recycled products) to limit the impact on the environment. Since it is a shared space, The Hub inherently focuses on community by building relationships and supporting growing businesses like MindSea.
The Hub provides a bright, comfortable, healthy workspace that is part of an enriched work experience that leads to higher productivity, greater creativity, improved health and more prosperous collaborators.
MindSea’s use of The Hub also reduces electronic waste by sharing the use of everyday office equipment such as photocopiers, fax machines, scanners and overhead projectors. When purchasing other computers, MindSea selects products that have the least environmental impact possible – mercury-free LCD displays, PVC-free, highly recyclable, and use high-efficiency power supplies.
MindSea manages a virtual corporate infrastructure environment and employs cloud computing to reduce the use of paper and take advantage of otherwise wasted computer resources.
MindSea’s headquarters is centrally located downtown and facilitates the use of public transit for commuters.
MindSea supports building sustainable communities by donating consultants’ expertise and time to local charities, and by developing applications to promote the use of public transit.
Through our innovative approach to IT solutions, MindSea helps Nova Scotia businesses be more competitive which ultimately leads to greater sustainability.
